Ex-Phoenix cop pleads not guilty in sex case

Former Phoenix Police Detective Christopher J. Wilson has pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual misconduct with a minor.
Wilson, 43, entered the plea to the felony Thursday morning.
was arrested Aug. 7, after a 14-year-old boy came forward with allegations against the detective, who worked in community relations for the department before resigning prior to the arrest.
Further investigation led to another boy, 17, as a potential victim.
Police Chief Daniel Garcia has called the younger teenager “courageous” for reporting the incident.
Wilson’s next court date is Oct. 8.
