Olympic bodies causing eating disorders?

Those chiseled Olympic bodies are impressive, but health experts warn they can lead to dangerous behaviors.
Valley dietician Rachel Brogan said parents need to be aware of teenagers thinking they can slim down by skipping meals or cutting corners.
“It is influential on how people see their bodies,” she said.
Brogan said that a teenager developing an eating disorder can have both short- and long-term complications.
“There is concern, especially if they are still in developmental years,” she said. “That could greatly damage some of their normal development.”
Brogan said communication is the key. If your family is watching the Olympics together, it wouldn’t hurt to talk about how athletes bodies are different from the average person.
