City of Phoenix employees are shedding pounds as part of a plan to get healthy.
Last month, the city began the Real Food Slim Down Challenge, based on a visual eating and exercise program, or VEEP.
“You don’t have to count calories, you don’t have to weigh, you don’t have to measure your food,” said Mary Kyle with the city of Phoenix.
Kyle said she plans her meals for the entire week in one day, paying special attention to portion control.
“Here’s what you get to eat and how much you get to eat, based on looking at a 10-ince dinner plate,” she said.
About 700 employees have lost a total of 1,500 pounds in one month.
