TUCSON, Ariz. – A former postal employee in Tucson has been indicted for
allegedly stealing almost $77,000 in stamps.
Prosecutors said Wednesday that a federal grand jury in Tucson charged
53-year-old Cheryl A. Molera with theft of public money or property.
Molera formerly was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a window service
technician.
Prosecutors say she allegedly stole a stamp inventory that was in her
possession and care between May 2007 and June 2009.
They say Molera allegedly used the Postal Service’s point of sale system to
manipulate the inventory control system.
The indictment claims the stamp inventory was valued at $76,526.
Molera appeared in court June 22 and was released after promising to appear at
all future court appearances. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney for her
case.
