Phoenix police locate father accused of taking son

Phoenix police have located a man who has been
accused of kidnapping his 1-year-old son.

Christopher Ayers, 21, and his son, Christopher, were last
seen late Tuesday afternoon in the 3300 block of West Edgemont Avenue, near Thomas Road. He had an argument with his ex-
girlfriend, the boy’s mother, and was said to have threatened to harm the boy and himself, before leaving.

Police said Ayers was located and arrested about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The child is currently with family.

The child had been with his father for a few days before the incident.

Ayers is also wanted by police on
assault charges against other family members.
