Feds seize marijuana hidden in produce in Arizona

NOGALES, Ariz. – Border Patrol agents in southern Arizona have seized a
big rig with more than 1,700 pounds of marijuana hidden within a shipment of
produce.
Agents working at the Interstate 19 checkpoint in Nogales referred a
tractor-trailer for secondary inspection Monday.
Upon further investigation, they discovered 73 bundles of marijuana mixed
within crates of pumpkins and chili peppers.
Federal authorities say the 1,703 pounds of marijuana have an estimated value
of more than $850,000.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Nogales Station for processing.
His name hasn’t been released, but authorities say he’s a U.S. citizen.
