TUCSON, Ariz. — An Air Force helicopter has helped rescue an injured hiker in Tucson’s Santa Catalina Mountains.
The helicopter from Davis-Monthan Air Force base airlifted the hiker Friday afternoon from an area along the Pima Canyon Trail.
The name of the female hiker wasn’t immediately released, but the Arizona Daily Star says she’s an intern with the Arizona Game and Fish Department.
Pima County Sheriff’s officials say she was taken to University of Arizona Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
