TUCSON, Ariz. — Authorities have identified two people who were
impersonating Tucson police officers.
Tucson police said Wednesday they located the man and woman accused of driving
a vehicle with emergency lights and sirens and conducting several traffic stops
between Dec. 11 and June 10.
Police said they have impounded a car belonging to them as well as law
enforcement uniforms and other gear.
Charges are pending against them but police are not disclosing any information
about the two.
Police officials said the fake officers reportedly gave verbal warnings during
the traffic stops. In one instance, they even intervened in a fight while
wearing their uniforms.
