British Airways announced Tuesday an increase in nonstop flights between Phoenix and London beginning in December.
That brings the number of nonstop flights from Sky Harbor International to Heathrow to seven days, up from six. The change will take effect Dec. 5.
According to city officials, the extra day of service is estimated to bring the total economic impact of the flight to $100 million per year. Sky Harbor is credited with bringing in $33 billion a year to the local economy.
British Air arrived in the Valley in 1996.
