Valley home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright may face demolition

PHOENIX — Historians fear a Phoenix home designed by legendary architect
Frank Lloyd Wright could face demolition.
The Arizona Republic reported conservators said a
prospective buyer of the spiral-design home south of Camelback Mountain has
filed an application to split the property.
Officials at the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy said that could be
first step in a plan to tear down the home.
JT Morning Glory Enterprises, which owns the home, did not disclose the buyer’s
identity.
Mayor Greg Stanton has urged the city’s planning commission to consider the
home for historical preservation.
Wright built the 2,500-square-foot house 60 years ago for his son, David.
David Wright lived there with his wife, Gladys, until his death in 1997. The
home was sold after Gladys Wright’s passing in 2008.
