Scottsdale receives two architectural awards

Two Scottsdale structures have received a 2012 American Institute of Architects award.
According to ArchDaily.com, both structures respect the Arizona desert and use native features and designs.
Relic Rock is a family home that is a a model for further sustainability construction projects. The LEED-certified home was built using standardized components and 99 percent recycled steel. The home also left native boulders and topography untouched.

The other Arizona structure is the Optima Camelview Village, a mixed-use condominium development. The property promotes a pedestrian lifestyle with its shaded walkways, inter-building bridges and landscaped boulevards.
