Man hit by Phoenix police car, in critical condition

PHOENIX — Phoenix police say a man is in critical condition at a hospital
after being struck by a police vehicle.
ABC 15.COM reported Sgt. Trent Crump said a man was hit
by a police car Thursday morning after running in and out of traffic.
According to Crump several 911 calls reported a pedestrian trying to jump in front of
cars at about 2 a.m. near Dunlap and 39th avenues.
Police said some witnesses described seeing the man on his knees in the
middle of traffic. Crump said the man jumped in front of the vehicle of a
responding officer. The officer was not hurt.
He said police are treating the incident as an attempted suicide.
Authorities have closed Dunlap between 39th and 43rd avenues while
investigators examine the scene.
