PEORIA, Ariz. – Police say an elementary school in Peoria has been
burglarized for the seventh time since November.
A custodian at Skyview Elementary discovered the latest burglary at 6 a.m.
Monday.
Police say projectors from six different classrooms were stolen. The projectors
are valued at about $600 apiece.
“But really, the loss is greater when you factor in the labor to replace them, the damage to the classroom doors from the break-in,” said Jay Davies with the Peoria Police Department.
More than a dozen classroom doors also were damaged from the break-in, which
apparently occurred sometime between last Thursday morning and early Monday.
“It appears that three separate pods — each containing four classrooms — were ultimately broken in to,” said Davies.
Police say they’re still trying to identify suspects in the case.
