TUCSON, Ariz. — The University of Arizona is seeking permits for alcohol
in several campus buildings.
The Arizona Daily Star reported school officials are
applying for liquor licenses for seven of its buildings. Officials said the
requests are meant to help organizers of concerts, banquets, high-end football
seating and other events with cash bars.
Arizona Student Unions director Joel Hauff said organizers have to obtain
individual short-term permits for special events where alcohol is sold.
Hauff said UA is a dry campus and that rumors of bars opening up on campus are false.
All liquor-license applications will be discussed at a City of Tucson hearing June 26.
