PHOENIX — A West Valley teacher has been chosen to participate in a summer
institute at the Library of Congress.
Anna Harding of L. Thomas Heck Middle School in
Litchfield Park will attend the institute from June 11 to 15 in Washington, D.C.
The Library of Congress said it carefully chooses groups of K-12 teachers to
attend its institutes and that Harding was picked from an application pool of
more than 300.
During the five-day program, teachers work with education specialists and other
experts to learn best practices for using primary sources in the classroom.
They
also explore the use of digitized historical artifacts and documents available
on the Library’s website.
