PHOENIX — The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat
warning for parts of Arizona for Thursday and Friday as temperatures are
expected to reach up to 114 degrees in some areas.
The heat warnings will be in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. both Thursday and
Friday and include the Phoenix area, Yuma, Florence, Casa Grande, Wickenburg and
The National Weather Service is forecasting record or near-record temperatures.
Phoenix is expected to reach 109 degrees on Thursday and 112 degrees on Friday.
Parker should hit a whopping 114 degrees on Friday.
The temperatures will make heat stroke more likely for those doing anything
strenuous outdoors and can be dangerous for the elderly who don’t have air
People are urged to limit outdoor activity and dress for the heat.
