Drivers heading north from Phoenix on Interstate 17 will need to allow for extra travel time this weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation will be completing the repaving of a six-mile segment of highway between the Stoneman Lake interchange and the Coconino County line.
Construction will narrow I-17 northbound to one lane and the speed limit will drop to 45 mph from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Friday to Sunday.
Drivers are asked to slow down, be aware of their surroundings and be on the alert for construction equipment and personnel while in the area.
