PHOENIX — Sam Smith fans in the Phoenix area will have to wait a little longer to stay with the singer.
The British singer said in a Facebook post that he needs more rest between shows since having surgery on his vocal cords in June.
“I am so incredibly sorry for the inconvenience,” the post read. “But it’s a matter of rescheduling one or canceling many. I can’t wait to play for you in a few weeks, and again, I am sorry.”
Smith’s Phoenix show, scheduled for Wednesday night at Gila River Arena, will now take place on Sept. 30 at the same venue. Tickets for Wednesday’s show will be honored.
The 23-year-old singer is in the middle of his In The Lonely Hour Tour. It began in January and goes through November. Smith canceled 18 shows of the tour after sustaining a vocal cord hemorrhage.
