A historic downtown Phoenix building that was briefly seen in the Alfred Hitchcock thriller, “Psycho,” has been retargeted for sale by the city.
The city wants proposals that “will preserve and promote the productive use” of the 100-year-old Barrister Place Building near Central Avenue and Jefferson Street.
A year ago the city Arizona Builders Exchange looked over seven bids before settling on the request for proposal from P.B. Bell and Davis Enterprises, according to Multi-Housing News online.
The minimum proposed asking price remained $2.8 million and preferences still called for residential and commercial space. Bids needed to be submitted by Sept. 25.
The city bought the former Jefferson Hotel in 1990. The site closed in 2010.
