PHOENIX — A Phoenix credit union was named by Healthiest Employers as the healthiest workplace in the United States.

OneAZ Credit Union, which houses its corporate office near 23rd Avenue and Pinnacle Peak Road, won the national award after finishing in the top 10 the previous three years.

Founded in 1951, the credit union has 20 branches across Arizona, 528 full-time employees, more than 200,000 members and manages more than $3.4 billion in assets.

In order to be featured on the list, companies had to partake in the Healthiest Employers application process.

Then, a group of representatives with academic, medical, wellness and business backgrounds made up the panel of judges.

Each company was evaluated by the panel based on six categories:

  • Culture and Leadership Commitment
  • Foundational Components
  • Strategic Planning
  • Communications and Marketing
  • Programming and Interventions
  • Reporting and Analytics

“At OneAZ, we are driven by a relentless commitment to associate well-being,” President and CEO of OneAZ Credit Union Brandon Michaels said in a release. “Investing in the wellness of our team is critical to ensuring that we are healthy in mind, body and spirit so that we can serve our members as trailblazers in our industry. Being recognized as the Healthiest Workplace in the nation is a testament to OneAZ’s commitment to creating a workplace where the whole person matters.”

OneAZ Credit Union offers 100% fitness membership reimbursement to its associates and their families, student loan reimbursement, a diabetes reversal program and a program that provides matching funding for daycare.
