PHOENIX — Construction has begun on a West Valley apartment community for those ages 55 and up, a rental housing company announced Tuesday.

Greystar secured 4.1 acres in Surprise at Bell Road and Parkview Place and the project has an expected completion date of April 2026. Early home reservations will be accepted beginning in Sept. 2025.

Album by Greystar will offer 161 apartment homes for leasing, a mix of one- and two-bedroom concepts with up to 1,325-square feet of space.

Some internal features include tile backsplashes, quartz countertops, glass showers and washers and dryers. Guests in the top floors will be able to look out upon Surprise Stadium, the MLB spring training home of the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals, which is just a 15-minute walk away.

“We created Album Surprise so active adults can live a unique, connected, expressive life here in the growing Surprise community,” Greystar managing director for development Billy Cundiff said in a release. “Residents will find a home alongside some of the area’s most convenient amenities and exciting entertainment attractions, making it the ideal location for easy living.”

Community members at Album by Greystar can utilize the central clubhouse for its pub and sports lounge. Other clubhouse offerings include a fitness center, craft-making room, coffee bar and yoga studio.

The active community complex will also offer the following outdoor amenities to its 55-plus renters:
– Resort-style pool.
– Heated spa.
– Shaded cabanas.
– Community-wide sidewalk for exercising or dog-walking.
– Grilling area and outdoor fire pit.
– Outdoor patio space with accompanying heaters.

Future residents will be in proximity to Surprise City Center, eateries such as Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria and Cooper Hawk’s Winery & Restaurant and shopping centers Costco and Target.

We want to hear from you.
