Tempe to set up memorial displays this weekend for 2023 traffic fatalities

PHOENIX — With World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims (WDR) on Sunday, the city of Tempe will place displays at the intersections closest to where traffic fatalities occurred, beginning Friday and ending Monday.
2024 marks the sixth year Tempe has placed displays in honor of WDR, a global event to remember those who have been killed or seriously injured in traffic accidents.
In 2023, Tempe had 50 serious car accidents, resulting in 24 fatalities and another 34 serious injuries.

- Rio Salado Parkway and Packard Drive
- Southern Avenue and Country Club Way
- Willow Drive and Elliot Road
- Elliot Road and LosFeliz Drive
- Rural Road and Lakeshore Drive
- Southern Avenue and Clementine Drive
- Priest Drive and Center Parkway
- Mill Avenue and Apache Boulevard
- Southern Avenue and Evergreen Road
- Curry Road and McClintock Drive
- Rio Salado Parkway and Rural Road
- McClintock Drive and Guadalupe Road
- 1385 E. University Drive
- Rural Road and Rio Salado Parkway
