PHOENIX — A man is dead after a fatal collision in Phoenix on Saturday night, authorities said.

Just before midnight, Phoenix PD was called to a collision in the area of 79th Avenue and McDowell Road, where they found a man with serious injuries.

The fire department then transported him to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Preliminary information suggests the man was crossing McDowell Road, not in a cross walk, and was struck by the vehicle which was heading westbound on McDowell Road.

The driver showed no signs of impairment and remained on the scene.

The victim may have been struck by other vehicles after the original collision prior to Phoenix PD’s arrival, according to authorities.

This is an ongoing investigation. No other details were provided.
