PHOENIX – A 14-year-old suspect turned himself in to police on Wednesday nearly two weeks after a stabbing took place at a Peoria High School football game, authorities said.
On Oct. 18 at approximately 9:15 p.m., Peoria police responded to a stabbing during the game near 11200 N. 83rd Avenue. Authorities believe it was an isolated incident involving two children that happened near the bleachers.
One child suffered a minor injury to his abdomen and was taken to a local hospital, while the 14-year-old suspect left the scene before authorities could reach him.
An investigation determined there was a disagreement between the two individuals that led to the stabbing.
The 14-year-old suspect was taken to the Durango Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of assault.
No other information was made available.
