Motorcyclist dies after crash in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A man has died in Phoenix after a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle on Saturday, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

At 3:15 p.m., officers responded to a crash in the area of South 44th Street where 34-year-old Jovany Aceves was found suffering from critical injuries. 

He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

Police said Aceves was driving southbound on 44th Street at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a nearby pole.

The investigation remains ongoing.
