WB Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway reopened in Mesa after fatal crash involving children

PHOENIX — The westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway was closed in east Mesa for several hours due to a fatal crash involving children on Wednesday, authorities said.
The crash involving four vehicles and two juvenile deaths occurred near McKellips Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The freeway closed at Brown Road around 10:30 a.m. and reopened around 4:30 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The eastbound lanes were not affected.
