3-year-old child pulled from pool in Phoenix pronounced dead at hospital

PHOENIX — A three-year-old child pulled from a backyard pool in Phoenix on Friday night was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
Firefighters and police were dispatched to a home near 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road at 7:20 p.m. in response to reports of a child found unconscious in a backyard pool.
Authorities said the child had been submerged in the pool for an unknown amount of time before being pulled out.
Police had initiated CPR on the unconscious patient as firefighters were arriving on scene.
The child was then transported to the hospital, where it was pronounced dead.
The investigation remains ongoing.
