Rock star Sammy Hagar sells rare Ferrari at Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction for record price

Oct 13, 2024, 11:43 AM

PHOENIX – Rock star Sammy Hagar sold his one-of-a-kind 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari for a record price on Saturday during the Barrett-Jackson 2024 fall auction in Scottsdale.

The former Van Halen frontman flew into Scottsdale for the event which saw his vehicle sell for $4.675 million. The former high mark for a 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari was $3.9 million in August 2022 at Broad Arrow Group Auctions at the Monterey Jet Center in California.

Hagar planned to sell his unique car last January at the 2024 Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale, however, he waited to sell in order to have a high-voltage lithium-ion battery installed.

The Red Rocker’s LaFerrari was custom designed for him but was also one of 499 of that kind ever built.

The “I Can’t Drive 55” singer’s former vehicle has the capability to go from zero to 60 miles per hour in under three seconds and can reach a top speed of 217 mph.

The inaugural fall Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auto auction started on Thursday and runs through Sunday at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The event can also be watched live online.

Barrett-Jackson added an additional fall auction this year due to an increased demand of consignment requests.

The 2025 Barrett-Jackson auction is scheduled for Jan. 18-26. This year’s winter auction set an event record of $200.9 million in sales.
