PHOENIX – Rare cars owned by boxer Canelo Alvarez and rocker Sammy Hagar will be on the block this week at the inaugural fall Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auto auction.
Barrett-Jackson’s second Scottsdale event of the year runs from Thursday to Sunday at WestWorld of Scottsdale, home of the company’s popular annual January auction.
Like the longer winter version, the 2024 fall Barrett-Jackson auction will feature an array of collector cars and auto-related memorabilia.

One of the highlights of the fall Barrett-Jackson event will be Hagar’s unique 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari. If that sounds familiar, it’s because the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was planning to sell the hybrid supercar at the January auction in Scottsdale.
However, he waited to have a high-voltage lithium-ion battery installed before saying goodbye to what he called “my favorite car I’ve ever owned.”
The LaFerrari is one of 499 ever built and the only one custom designed by the former Van Halen frontman, a noted automobile aficionado whose penchant for fast cars was made famous in his solo classic “I Can’t Drive 55.”
Boxing champion Alvarez is also selling a rare luxury sports car at the fall Barrett-Jackson auction. His 2018 Bugatti Chiron, one of only 500 produced by the French carmaker, only has 1,610 miles on it.
All the options on the striking blue two-seater put the Bugatti’s MSRP at $3.2 million, according to the auction listing.
Why did Barrett-Jackson add a fall auction in 2024?
Barrett-Jackson added a second auction this year after being flooded with consignment requests in January.
“The demand for Barrett-Jackson, and particularly this location here in Scottsdale, has led to an increasingly unprecedented number of consignments for our January auction, with hundreds of significant quality vehicles being deferred to other auctions every year,” Barrett-Jackson President Steve Davis said when announcing plans for the fall event.
The January 2024 Scottsdale auction set an event record with $200.9 million in sales.
If you can’t get enough of Barrett-Jackson auctions, you have to wait only a few months for the next one. The main 2025 event is set for Jan. 18-26.
