PHOENIX — One woman is dead after a two-vehicle collision in north Phoenix on Tuesday night, authorities said.
The crash took place near 35th and Grovers avenues, between Bell Road and Union Hills Drive, around 6:25 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The deceased woman was identified as 48-year-old Abagail Lopez Moreno.
When officers arrived on the scene, they located Lopez Moreno with injuries. She died after being transported to a nearby hospital.
The early investigation suggests that Lopez Moreno was a passenger in a vehicle heading north on 35th Avenue. As that vehicle turned left at Grovers Avenue, it was struck by a vehicle traveling south on 35th Avenue, police said.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision. This remains an ongoing investigation.
