PHOENIX — A new Peoria senior community is officially in the works.

Project leaders recently broke ground on Ridgecrest, which is for residents 55 and older, according to a press release Monday from Trilogy by Shea Homes.

Project leaders expect it to be completed by 2025.

It will have 414 homes. Potential homeowners can start making appointments to ask for more about the community this weekend, the release said.

What homeowners should know about upcoming Peoria senior community

There are three different groups of floor plans the community offers: the Freedom 35 Collection, the Freedom 45 Collection and the Ridge Collection.

Each home in Freedom 35 Collection has a single-level open concept plan. The home plans range from around 1,649 square feet to 1,988 square feet.

Additionally, estimated home costs for this floor plan collection are in the high $400,000s.

Next, the types of floor plans found in the Freedom 45 Collection range in size from around 2,112 square feet to roughly 2,573 square feet, according to the release. Buying a home with one of these floor plans will require homeowners to shell out payments in the low $500,000s.

Lastly, homes in the Ridge Collection are the largest. These floor plans are around 2,721 square feet at the smallest and 3,040 square feet at the largest. They’re also the most expensive, with projected pricing in the low $700,000s.

What residents can expect if they move to resort-style Peoria community

The Peoria senior community will have various amenities, including a 6,000-square-foot Wellness Social Club with indoor/outdoor social spaces, a fitness studio, lawns, multiple pools and pickleball courts.

“We enlisted award-winning designers and researched top boutique hotels, incorporating the latest wellness design trends like biophilic natural elements, extensive glass and natural light, and colors and textures that reflect nature,” Hal Looney, area president of the Shea Homes Active Lifestyle division for Arizona, said in the release.

“Creative and robust programming is designed to give residents easy access to new experiences where they can meet neighbors and new friends and enjoy fitness classes, keynote speakers, unique excursions, specialty food and wine events, cultural celebrations and more.”
