2-year-old dead after being pulled from Phoenix backyard pool

PHOENIX — A 2-year-old boy died after being pulled from a backyard pool in Phoenix on Monday afternoon, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to a home near Roeser Road and 16th Street at 4:45 p.m. and found the child unconscious and not breathing, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
It’s unknown how long the boy, who was rushed to a hospital and was pronounced dead there, was in the water.
The Phoenix Police Department took over the scene for an investigation.
