Phoenix police are seeking public’s help in finding person of interest in a fatal stabbing

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest related to a fatal stabbing in August.

The department’s investigation identified Edwin Lopez, 34, as someone they want to question.

Phoenix police ask that anyone with information on Lopez call the department or Silent Witness to remain anonymous at 480-WITNESS (948-6377) or 480-TESTIGO (837-8446) for Spanish.

What happened in the fatal stabbing?

Around 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 29, officers responded to reports of a stabbing near Third Avenue and Hadley Street.

At the scene, police found 35-year-old Cisco Dennis with at least one stab wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died from his injuries.

Following the stabbing, the department asked for the public’s help finding information on the incident.
