PHOENIX — Authorities canceled a Silver Alert after a Gilbert man was found safe and in good health on Monday.

Authorities issued the silver alert for 36-year-old Joseph Gomez-Silvas who went missing in Gilbert on Sunday.

The Gilbert Police Department said Gomez-Silvas was last seen on foot at about 11 a.m. around his home near Baseline and McQueen Roads.

Authorities said Gomez-Silvas did not have a cell phone, wallet or any additional belongings with him. He also does not have access to a car. They said he cannot speak clearly or walk or eat well without assistance. He also has been diagnosed with Huntington’s disease (a condition that affects the brain from working).

He is approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighs 155 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black sweat pants over the top of blue shorts and black and white Nike shoes.
