PHOENIX — Police are investigating after a string of similar robberies were observed at Peoria businesses, authorities said Thursday.
Officers responded to a report of suspicious circumstances at a business near 83rd Avenue and Cactus Road around 1:30 a.m. and witnessed a man walking away from the area, according to the Peoria Police Department.
They found a windowpane removed from the front of the business and after making several announcements, found two victims inside who said they had been robbed.
While officers were investigating at that scene, a call came in about a robbery at a business at Olive and 89th avenues, about 3 miles away from the original robbery.
Officers at the second scene found the same method of entry — a windowpane broken at the front of the business with one victim inside.
Peoria officers eventually found two more businesses that were broken into using the same method. One was located at 75th Avenue and Thunderbird Road, while the other was at 91st and Peoria avenues.
No victims were injured as a result of the robberies.
