PHOENIX — Two people are dead after a two-vehicle collision in Chandler on Tuesday night, police said.
The crash took place near Price Road and Armstrong Place around 10:30 p.m., according to the Chandler Police Department.
The two people who died were the drivers and sole occupants of their vehicles, police said.
The deceased were identified Friday as 38-year-old Nick Vasquez of Casa Grande and 34-year-old Sameera Vishwanath of Newark, California.
Investigators determined that Vasquez was driving south on Price Road and lost control of his vehicle. His Nissan sedan collided with a Ford SUV driven in the opposite direction by Vishwanath, police said.
Detectives are still working to determine what led to the incident.
