PHOENIX — A second suspect was arrested for his alleged involvement in a drive-by shooting that killed a teenage girl in September, the Phoenix Police Department announced Thursday.
The shooting left 15-year-old Giaginette Brown, who was sleeping in her bed, dead from at least one gunshot wound. Evidence suggested shots entered her home between midnight and 3 a.m.
Identified as a suspect in January, 16-year-old Jason “JJ” Richards was arrested and booked into juvenile detention on Wednesday.
Another suspect involved in the case, 17-year-old Isaac Orozco, was arrested in January. A Maricopa County Grand Jury indicted Orozco as an adult on two felony charges, including second-degree murder, a week later.
Authorities said Thursday they believe others involved in the drive-by shooting are still outstanding.
