MADISON, Wis. (AP) — In a Sept. 23 story about quagga mussels destroying Great Lakes shipwrecks, The Associated Press erroneously reported the title of the Gordon Lightfoot song about the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald in Lake Superior. The song is titled “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” not “The Ballad of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”
