DEATH VALLEY JUNCTION, Calif. (AP) — In a story published September 4, 2023, about Death Valley National Park’s closure, The Associated Press misidentified the individual who said about 900 of the park’s nearly 1,400 miles (2,250 kilometers) of roads have been assessed. He is Matthew Lamar, a park ranger, not Christopher Andriessen, a spokesperson with the California Department of Transportation.
