As of 6:23 p.m., Salt River Project has 4,500 customers out of power.

Roads were closed in the area.

The Apache Junction Police Department said power lines were also down at the intersections of McKellips Boulevard and Ironwood Drive, and Cedar Drive and Windsong Street.

About 1,100 people also lost power in the area between 32nd and 16 streets and Thomas and Camelback roads in Phoenix, SRP said, while an additional 300 people between 67th and 83 avenues and McDowell and Indian School roads. Arizona Public Service said an additional 1,900 customers lost power in Phoenix.

The National Weather Service in Phoenix reported winds at up to 50 mph moved
through the Apache Junction area around 2 p.m.

Sky Harbor International Airport said flights were delayed about 45 minutes.

The National Weather Service said a small stream flood advisory was in effect for east-central Maricopa County and northern Pinal County until 4:15 p.m.

There’s no immediate report of any injuries.
