Police swarm Chandler neighborhood after reported shooting

PHOENIX — Chandler police asked people to stay inside for several hours after a reported shooting Friday morning, authorities said.
ABC15 reported that a person was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after a shooting that occurred around 9:30 a.m. in a residential area near Arizona Avenue and Pecos Road.
Just before 10 a.m., the Chandler Police Department tweeted about an active incident in the area.
Residents in the vicinity were asked to stay inside. Police said at 1:20 p.m. that school lockdowns and shelter in place notifications in the area of Arizona Avenue between Pecos Road and Chandler Boulevard were lifted.
Police activity will remain, stay out of the area.

People were asked to avoid the area as the police activity continued.
