Interstate 17 in downtown Phoenix reopens after fatal crash

PHOENIX – A fatal rollover crash closed part of Interstate 17 in downtown Phoenix briefly early Friday, authorities said.

Northbound lanes of the freeway were shut down near Jefferson Street, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

ABC15 reported another car was involved and the driver sustained injuries that weren’t life-threatening.

The road reopened around 5:50 a.m., about 90 minutes after the wreck, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

No other details were made immediately available.
