PHOENIX – A suspect in an apparent road rage shooting in Glendale last week was arrested Wednesday, authorities said.
Rodolfo Sanchez, 22, was booked into jail on multiple counts, including aggravated assault, endangerment and prohibited weapons possession.
Sanchez can’t legally possess a firearm because he has prior felony convictions for arson and burglary, according to court records.
The suspect was driving near 51st Avenue and Camelback Road when he allegedly fired multiple shots at another vehicle, striking the driver, the Glendale Police Department said.
The 40-year-old victim was taken to a hospital to be treated for a single gunshot wound. He’s since been released and is recovering, police said.
The victim told police he was at a light when a silver pickup truck pulled up next to him prior to the shooting, according to court documents.
Police used traffic camera footage to identify a truck that matched the description.
The truck had boxes in the bed that investigators determined contained auto parts. They showed a photo of the truck to auto dealerships in the area and were able to connect it to Sanchez.
