PHOENIX — A popular northern California-based sandwich chain served up its first meals in Arizona on Monday with the debut of its Scottsdale restaurant.
Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop opened its doors near Scottsdale Road and Shea Boulevard, the first of a handful of locations slated to open over the next 18 months, according to a press release.
The restaurant is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
There are plans over the next 18 months for locations in Chandler, Phoenix, Queen Creek and Surprise, with a second deli set to open in Scottsdale.
“For those who do not know the brand yet, every order automatically comes with one of our melt-in-your-mouth cookies, a hallmark of the brand since its inception,” CEO Mike Nelson said.
“We look forward to building this brand that now calls Arizona home, as well as helping grow it nationwide in the years to come.”
Customers will have 10 types of breads and wraps to choose from, as well as sides, jumbo pickles and a wide selection of chips.
Though Mr. Pickles partners with DoorDash, the business has also invested in Paytronix Systems Inc., which is used for its loyalty, order, delivery, mobile and gift system.
Nelson moved Mr. Pickles’ headquarters to Scottsdale in 2022, while the support center remained in California.
