PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs is giving her first State of the State address at the Capitol in downtown Phoenix on Monday afternoon.

The state Legislature is livestreaming video of the speech. The audio is being simulcast on KTAR News 92.3 FM, our app or online.

Afterward, KTAR News’ The Gaydos and Chad Show will analyze Hobbs’ message.

Hobbs was expected to cover education, housing affordability and the water supply, among other subjects.

The Democrat took the oath of office as Arizona’s 24th governor last Monday. A formal inauguration ceremony followed on Thursday.

During her inauguration speech, she made a call for unity and promised to work with legislators on both sides of the aisle.

Hobbs is Arizona’s first Democratic governor in 14 years. She’ll find common ground with at least some Republicans, who control both chambers of the Legislature by one seat, to get laws passed.

Hobbs, who defeated Republican Kari Lake in the November general election, is the fifth woman to be Arizona governor.

She served the last four years as Arizona’s secretary of state after four terms in the Legislature.

We want to hear from you.
