PHOENIX – Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs will deliver her first State of the State address Monday.

Hobbs is scheduled to speak in front of a joint Legislature starting at 2 p.m.

Her address can be heard live on KTAR News 92.3 FM, our app or online.

Hobbs took office last week to become Arizona’s 24th governor and the first Democrat to hold the office since 2009.

Hobbs, who narrowly defeated Republican Kari Lake in the general election held last November, is the fifth woman to be Arizona governor. She was elected Arizona’s secretary of state in 2018.

The last Democratic governor was Janet Napolitano, who resigned in January 2009 to become U.S. Homeland Security secretary under President Barack Obama. She was replaced by Republican Gov. Jan Brewer.

A Republican-controlled state Legislature is expected to limit Hobbs’ ability to undo much of what her two-term predecessor Doug Ducey enacted.

Stay tuned after the speech for reaction to Hobbs’ address with KTAR News The Gaydos & Chad Show.

We want to hear from you.
