Silver Alert in West Valley canceled after subject found safe

PHOENIX – Authorities canceled a Silver Alert in the West Valley seven hours after it was issued Wednesday morning after the subject was found safe.

The alert for Peter Aynesworth, 75, of Peoria, went out at approximately 2:45 a.m. It was deactivated around 9:45 a.m.

Aynesworth, 75, had last been seen Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. driving near 91st Avenue and Edgewater Road, authorities said.

Family members told police Aynesworth has Alzheimer’s disease and that he becomes confused and gets lost easily.

He stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 111 pounds and has blond hair and hazel eyes. He was wearing a long-sleeved blue and white striped shirt and black jeans.

He left without his medication or cellphone.
