Man charged with murder, kidnapping after deadly argument with girlfriend

PHOENIX — A 37-year-old man has been charged with kidnapping and murdering his girlfriend, according to Phoenix police.

Officers arrested Bobby Montano on Friday night after responding to a call of a stabbing around 10 p.m. in the area of 101st Avenue and Indian School Road.

Montano was detained after officers found the victim, who had suffered an apparent stab wound.

Officers provided life-saving measures to the victim until the Phoenix Fire Department arrived. Their efforts were not successful and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The victim was later identified as 50-year-old Marie Tachell.

The police continue to investigate the murder and what led up to an argument that resulted in the victim’s death.
