PHOENIX — A 10-year-old boy died and five other people, including three children, were hospitalized after a wreck in Avondale on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The three children were in critical condition after the two-vehicle crash at 107th Avenue and Roosevelt Parkway, just south of Interstate 10, occurred around 9:50 a.m., according to the Avondale Police Department.
A man and a woman were also taken to a hospital to be treated for their injuries.
Impairment wasn’t believed to be a factor in the wreck.
Roads were indefinitely closed at 107th Avenue between Van Buren Street and Roosevelt Parkway as a result of the crash.
Rainfall left roads drenched across the Phoenix area on Wednesday morning.
