Man rescued from fiery apartment by firefighters in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A man was rescued from an apartment fire on Christmas Eve by firefighters in Phoenix, authorities said.
Crews dispatched around 11:30 p.m. for reports of a structure fire near Seventh Street and Indian School Road, the Phoenix Police Department said in a press release.
When they arrived they found heavy smoke coming from the doorway of a large three-story apartment complex.
After they forced entry into the building they found an unconscious man and carried him out of the building.
The man was in stable condition and refused to be taken to the hospital, authorities said.
Only one apartment was affected by the fire.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators were on the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
